Day 40-45, 9/1-6. Rest in Concord, then ride to Rochester, NH

Concord, NH is a very nice and interesting town that we only superficially explored. We had stuff to do. Needed to replace our drive chain, and over 11 feet of chain is not easy to find. S&W Cycles came through for us in the end. We needed to do laundry, as always. We needed Rx drugs. We needed to maintain the bike, adjust this and that. In the end, we found a lovely book/sandwich shop, found that NH booze is quite cheap, found that our medical insurance had changed as of 9/1 and needed work, found the Barrel Shop which is a great place for local beers and sandwiches, and did manage to goof off and rest.

Non-tropical storm Hermine is still churning off the southern New England coast, so our day dawned cloudy and in the mid 60's. Once again, we had a great ride today. We did 40 miles and 1800 feet of climbing, getting into our hotel a little before noon. We felt great; felt that we had another 20+ miles in our legs. Since we are going 50+ miles tomorrow, that is a good sign.

Purple house on way to Rochester.

Another rocky, scenic New England stream. Ho hum.

Not much in the way of photos today between the rain and the unchanging landscape.

Our home tonight.

Tomorrow we go 50 miles to Portland, Maine. A new state, and the Atlantic coast.

Just FYI - Moose poop looks like a pile of chocolate covered almonds.
