Training is going well, and Mrs. Peters is continuing to meet with me (Karlee) and Katie. I'm going to take a few minutes to describe Mrs. Peters. Mrs. Peters is very athletic, (as you can tell, because she's doing the Riding Across America), and she's a great Language Arts teacher. She's very logical, and very kind. All of her kids enjoy having her as a Language Arts teacher and Katie and I are going to miss her SOOO much when we go to High School next year!

How We're Doing Money-Wise
NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) hosted a dance for Sparta Middle School students on Thursday, January 20th. All the proceeds went to the American Lung Association. Sparta Middle School's NJHS raised $500! We have a total of $1,100!! That is about 15% of the goal! We're well on our way. Thanks Sparta Middle School!

Who and Why
Margaret Peters and her husband, John Lemke, are preparing to ride across America on bikes. They will travel 3,300 miles in 7 weeks. They are doing this because John's father died when he was in his 50's from lung cancer. Margaret has asthma, and one of her favorite students has asthma. The rate of asthma among children is rising astronomically, and we need to find out why. Margaret wants to be a good example for her students, by being physically fit.
